The San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority (Water Authority) is notifying interested vendors of an upcoming solicitation under a Request for Qualifications and Proposals from Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) firms for the Delta-Mendota Canal Subsidence Correction Project – Phase 1, Tasks 1 through 4. This project will span multiple counties in California's Central Valley. The Phase 1 work includes an approximate 2-foot raise to correct deficient portions of the canal embankment, raising the top of the concrete canal lining to restore design capacity, and modifying associated embankment structures such as turnouts, drain inlets, and shoulder drains to accommodate the embankment and concrete lining raises. The project is intended to restore canal capacity, address the impact of subsidence on the canal's capacity, and ensure the long-term reliability of Central Valley Project water deliveries. This project is supported by a combination of local, state and federal funding.
The Water Authority anticipates issuing the Request for Proposals in late October 2025, with contract award and preconstruction services in early 2026 and construction commencing later that year. Interested firms must participate in the mandatory pre-proposal conference and project walk-through tentatively scheduled for early-mid November 2025. Interested vendors may obtain a Preliminary Scope and request to be added to the vendor list by contacting the Water Authority's Contract Specialist, Travis Roberts, at travis.roberts@sldmwa.org.
