The Petition is filed for the purpose of freeing the minor for adoption. For a proceeding filed under this provision, you have the right to counsel; if you are unable to afford counsel, the court shall appoint counsel for you unless that representation is knowingly and intelligently waived. The court shall consider whether the interests of the child require the appointment of counsel.
