NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE PROPOSED ESTABLISHMENT OF A PILOT PROGRAM FOR INTERAGENCY NO-COST OR REDUCED COST TRANSFER CREDIT ON
GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT BUS AND GOLDEN GATE FERRY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing to receive public comment, as follows:
Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
Board Room, Administration Building, Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza
San Francisco, CA
Listen and Comment at: (415) 569-6446
The District is proposing to establish a No-Cost or Reduced Cost Interagency Transfer Pilot Program (Pilot Program), which would provide a fare discount for Golden Gate Transit (GGT) and Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) riders transferring from any transit agency that uses the Clipper® 2 electronic fare collection system.
In April 2024, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission approved implementation of the Pilot Program to offer a more seamless and cost-effective experience for riders, and open up further transfer possibilities.
Under the Pilot Program, passengers transferring to or from GGT and GGF will pay the full fare for just the first transit agency that they board. Any transfer from GGT or GGF to a different agency within two hours will be discounted up to $2.75 for adult fares and $1.38 for discounted fares (Youth, Senior, Regional Transit Connection, and Clipper® START), or within three hours if the originating trip is on GGT, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART), or Sonoma County Transit.
The Pilot Program will also provide free local bus-to-bus transfers for Clipper® 2 users or a fare credit when transferring to regional bus, ferry or rail systems such as SolTrans long distance express buses, WETA, SMART, Caltrain, or BART. Passengers transferring to GGF from other agencies will receive a credit of $2.75 for adult riders (and $1.38 for discounted fares).
The Pilot Program is expected to commence at the launch of Clipper® 2, which is currently scheduled for April 1, 2025.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON A PROPOSED INCREASE IN LARKSPUR TO SAN FRANCISCO SPECIAL EVENT FARES ON GOLDEN GATE FERRY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing to receive public comment, as follows:
Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 9:15 a.m.
Board Room, Administration Building, Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza
San Francisco, CA
Listen and Comment at: (415) 569-6446
The District is proposing to authorize an annual fare increase program that would annually increase Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) fares on April 1 by $0.50 for trips each way between Larkspur and San Francisco for special events, beginning April 1, 2025, and continuing through March 31, 2028.
Special event GGF service operates on routes that are not part of the regularly scheduled transit routes. For example, the District provides direct ferry service between Larkspur and Oracle Park for Giants baseball games and other special events. Special event transit service fares are set to fully cover the operating expenses of the service and will be updated as needed by the District's Board of Directors.
To coincide with the Giants' home baseball season starting on April 4, 2025, a three-year fare increase program beginning April 1, 2025, of $0.50 each way and continuing through April 1, 2027, is proposed to keep pace with expenses related to salaries, benefits and fuel costs for special event service.
