BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF DISTRICT SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to California Education Code section 17466, the Board of Education ("Board") of the Berkeley Unified School District ("District"), adopted Resolution No. 25-053 Declaring the Board's Intention to Sell Certain Surplus Real Property Known as the "Oxford Site" at its regular meeting held on June 18, 2025. The property is the former Oxford Elementary School campus, located at 1130 Oxford Street in the City of Berkeley, County of Alameda, State of California. The property is approximately 1.26 acres of land (approximately 54,847 square feet) (APN 061-2558-017-00) that is improved with a three-story school building, containing approximately 32,624 square feet therein ("Property"). The Board now invites written, sealed bids for the purchase of the Property. Sealed written bids for the purchase of the Property, along with other mandatory bidder information and a bid deposit, will be due no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025. On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, during the Board's regular meeting to be held at its regular meeting place, located at the District's Board Room, 1231 Addison Street in Berkeley, California, beginning at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as practicable, sealed written bids shall be opened and declared, and oral bids, if any, will be taken from qualified bidders. Bidders need not have submitted a written bid in order to participate in oral bidding; however, oral bids will only be accepted from bidders who timely submitted a Pre-Bid Questionnaire prior to the public meeting. A final bid will be awarded at the meeting, or within ten (10) days thereafter, unless the Board rejects all bids. No bids, whether written or oral, will be considered from any person or organization that has not timely met the mandatory conditions described in the Notice of Sale and Bidding Instructions.
