SUMMARY: The professional position of a Project Designer requires delivering legendary service to distinct clients that exceeds expectations. Must have a solid knowledge of trade resources, fabricators, and vendors as well as the ability to creatively select high-end lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes. The Project Designer must interact effectively with the design team on multiple high end residential projects as well as supervise the work of others. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead Interior Architectural Design Team in developing customized solutions for high end residential projects and conducts in-depth client needs assessments to translate requirements into comprehensive design documents, detailed drawings, and illustrative diagrams. Execute projects from proposal to completion. Formulate preliminary space plans and photorealistic renderings. Develop architectural and conceptual designs, schematic floorplans w/elevations, and construction documents with specifications meeting all public health, safety and welfare, fire and code requirements. Collaborate with external architects, contractors, programmers, and consultants to document existing conditions, develop preliminary interior architectural plans, secure permits, and manage pricing. Reviews RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, mock-ups, 3D prototypes, and control samples to ensure project quality and adherence to design intent. Conducts regular site visits to monitor project progress and documents punch list items throughout construction and upon completion. Select, design and specify interior fixtures, lighting, plumbing, equipment, and all interior finishes, colors, fabrics, art, millwork, furniture, and appliances. Partner with artisans and manufacturers utilizing indepth knowledge of luxury materials and fabrication methods to fulfill exclusive client visions. Create specifications and schedules with accurate product information on time and within budget. Lead the construction process to ensure that the final product met high standards for quality and aesthetics. Manage the full lifecycle of projects creating detailed architectural work plans, agendas, project timelines. Conducts construction administration meetings to manage cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain clear communication and direct contact with clients to provide regular updates and address any concerns. EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a master degree in Interior Design/Architecture, Adaptive Reuse or closely related field (will accept foreign degree equivalency) 3 years of experience with the following skills, that may be gained concurrently: Sketchup, Enscape, Bluebeam, Revit, VectorWorks, Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Spec Sources, Studio Designer, and Auto CAD. 20% Telecommuting. 20% temporary travel to unanticipated work sites. Employer pays travel costs.
