Complete Delaware Statutory Trust books and consolidation independently, including reviewing the work of external accounting firm and property management team and resolving findings. Prepare investment funding requests, wires, and internal transfers, in a timely manner. Maintain journal entries, bank and general ledger reconciliations for partnership and fund investments. Maintain cash projections and forecasts for certain entities. Read and understand all related agreements/documentation relating to the investment or partnership/fund agreements, including waterfall and income/loss allocations. Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and other regulatory filings. Assist with reconciling investor capital activity and investment entity activity. Assist with any necessary audits or reviews. Coordinate with asset management team and address questions or requests pertaining to property financial statements. Coordinate with investor relations team to address investor inquiries or requests and ensure investor portal is up to date regarding capital contributions and distributions and assist team in maintaining investment records among accounting and investor portal systems. Respond to other internal inquiries in a timely fashion and prepare ad-hoc reports. Telecommuting is permissible with manager approval. Up to 10% domestic travel required. Position Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting or a related field, and 4 years of industry experience in multifamily real estate investment accounting. Additionally, a qualified applicant must have professional experience with the following: (1) 4 years of experience maintaining and reviewing multifamily real estate property accounting books and records; (2) 3 years of experience in preparing and maintaining Delaware Statutory Trust entity accounting books and records; (3) 4 years of experience using Yardi accounting software (including accounts receivable subledger, accounts payable subledger, treasury function, journal entry and investment management module) and Excel (including macros) to provide detailed monthly reporting for partners and investors; (4) 4 years of experience leading multifamily property management team members in maintaining proper accounting books and records and providing team members with solutions to complex accounting issues as and when needed; (5) 4 years of experience in delivering Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financials and fulfilling auditor requests for annual financial statements audits of multifamily real estate properties; and (6) 4 years of experience in maintaining and forecasting cash flow projections for multifamily real estate properties.
